It seems Mattel has gotten quite a few items made so cheaply that they fall apart before they arrive. I hope they find a better manufacturer that can build a better quality item for a low cost. It all falls back on quality control and the cost factor.

I think Mattel lost a lot on the lack of quality control on the Felicity and Elizabeth new dresses last year. You would think they would learn. People want quality items from American Girl.

I have a question for someone who has recently ordered the Sled: How much is the shipping?

They still have some Sleds available through the catalogue # (1800-845-0005). The woman my mom talked with didn't say how many Addy Sleds they have left, she said they have "some" left, but didn't mention that they are retiring it.

I ordered mine from AGPNY, not sure how many they have. I had seen the sled for $15 and did not buy it cause it was broken... now getting it full price, at least it is not ecpensive but am worried it may arrive broken as so many times I heard the members here say.
